Lenie Boya and Stefanie Reid — Making History at London Fashion Week

British luxury designer Lenie Boya joined forces with Stefanie Reid, Great Britain’s Paralympic star and three-time world record holder, for an unforgettable moment at London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016.

Reid made history by becoming the first-ever British amputee to walk the runway during the prestigious Fashion International showcase at the Charing Cross Hotel. The collaboration between Lenie and Stefanie embodied courage, creativity, and a powerful message of inclusion within the fashion world.

The event marked another incredible achievement for Stefanie, who survived a devastating motorboat accident at the age of 15. Having since become a Paralympic medallist at both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Games, she continues to inspire millions through her advocacy for body confidence and individuality.

“I am so excited to walk for Lenie,” said Reid. “I don’t look like your standard runway model — but that’s the point. My artificial leg didn’t faze Lenie at all; instead, she embraced it as another creative outlet. Clothes are made for people, not people for clothes.”

Lenie Boya’s ‘Dramatique’ collection redefined modern couture by blending art and empowerment. Speaking about the collaboration, Lenie shared:

“I’m delighted Stef is going to be the lead model in my show at Fashion International. I was looking for someone truly inspiring who challenges traditional fashion ideals — and Stef embodies that beautifully.”

During the show, Reid wore a bespoke prosthetic blade adorned with a chandelier, crafted by ProActive Prosthetics and designed by Sophie de Oliveira Barata of The Alternative Limb Project — a striking symbol of artistry, strength, and individuality.
